VMware vSAN Standard 7 is a software defined storage solution that is integrated with VMware vSphere. A distributed share data store is create by pooling directly attached storage devices across a VMware cluster. Basic storage capabilities are offered by the Standard version for desktop workloads.

• Two-node direct connect deployment options are available.
• Basic management and monitoring of virtual private networks.
• Storage policy-based management is a process.
• Encryption of data in transit.
• It is suited for virtualized desktop environments where the need for advanced data services and stretched clusters is not as critical.
